Weekend review…

My weekend in fifty words: Not in any particular order. 😉

Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, gambling, dinner, drinks, laughs, sleep, shopping, churros, lunch, breakfast, more shopping, movies, relaxing, TV, Charlie & Sasha, no lap top, hubs, driving, coffee, Calder, frozen yogurt, kung fu panda2, fireworks, pictures, fun, sleeping in, LOL moments, Battleship, Guess jeans, chill mode, frozen piña coladas, & instagram.

Despite not being on a boat or at the beach soaking up the sun and drinking margaritas, I had a fun, relaxing weekend. Next week, my toes will be buried in the sand. 😉

Not only today on Memorial day but everyday, I remember those who fought and continue to fight for this COUNTRY’S FREEDOM! God Bless.

I salute you, I honor you, and I thank you.  God Bless America.

Flashback Friday – Sasha & Camila

As I’m scrolling through my photos I could not just pick one.  Who says I have to be limited? HA!  Here is a picture of my girls — Sasha (dog) & Camila (cat).   I took this picture before Camila passed away. #heartbroken. Camila was the big sister.  They loved each other and only occasionally got into a little cat & dog fight. 😉

R.I.P. Camila.  We love you and will never forget you.

“Dogs have owners, cats have staff.”

Joel was away on business a couple of years ago and missing his little bitch so one day when I was preparing a care package, Sasha was almost shipped. HA~

Look at that face.  Her eyes were saying, “I don’t want to go.”  She didn’t go anywhere, she stayed with me. 😉

“A dog is the only thing on earth that will love you more than you love yourself.”

“A house is not a home without a pet.”  (Press Like if you agree.)  😉 😉

Have a happy and safe weekend!

In total de-clutter mode… First shoes.

I don’t know if it was the rain (it rained ALL day yesterday, 10 inches or more) but when I got home, I went into complete de-clutter mode. (well…not as soon as I got home but shortly after.) 😉 It was perfect, Joey was napping, the satellite was searching for signal and I got the urge to re-organize and de-clutter.  Why not?

I started with my shoes, YIKES!  If you know me, you know that I love shoes so it’s not just a few shoes that I have to go through, it’s a whole closet inside and out.  Note to self: You know you have a problem when your shoes spill out of the closet. Ay ya yah..

I was also sick and tired of…

The hubs constant complaint about tripping over my shoes. I don’t bitch at him for leaving his size 14’s everywhere.. I swear I can ski with those things. HA.

Who am I kidding? I bitch at him all the time. 😉  He just doesn’t realize that two pair of his shoes out-of-place makes a room look messy. #truth

While cleaning out the closet…

I could not help but wonder why in the world I kept some of the old worn out shoes for so long. Perhaps I wanted to hang on to that part of my life and throwing them out would mean saying good-bye to a part of me.  It was hard at first choosing which ones no longer needed my attention.  It was not easy but I didn’t hesitate, I chose the first pair and started tossing them out the closet.  Needless to say, I had to dig my way out of the closet, I was blocked in by a mountain of shoe boxes..  There are a few pairs that I chose to keep for now. Don’t judge. HA!

LOOK what I found: my penny loafers – WOWSERS.. I feel so old.  Do people still wear these?  I use to rock them in high school, I loved them.  So preppy.

My hub thinks that because I like certain styles of shoes that I will love them ALL and he surprises me every so often with a pair.  I def kept these for a rainy day, they are very futuristic looking and believe it or not, they are very comfy (I wore them once or twice).  He bought these heels like 13 yrs ago.  What do you think?

It felt great getting rid of the old to make room for the new. Note to self: Shoe shopping this weekend. Memorial weekend Sales.  “If the shoe fits…buy it in every color.”

Hi, My name is Melissa and I’m a shoeaholic.

I’m not done yet, next on my de-clutter list is: Clothes, purses, accessories.

Meet Charlie…

He is the newest member of my family.  When my hubby called and said he bought a lion head rabbit, he was not kidding.  He came home ready with all the essentials (cage, food, treats).  I was in shock.  What possessed him to buy a rabbit besides his love for all animals.  I asked and he said, “He gave me that look.”   Are you serious, Joel?  A look, I could not help but laugh but when I saw that fur ball and held him I was in love.

Meet Charlie – He is the cutest!Who could resist that face?

Did you see those feet? How adorable!

I was against any other pets since I lost my Camila (my cat) 2 years ago and scared that Sasha (our dog) which is 14 yrs old and very jealous would hate another pet in the house.  To my surprise, she has handled it very well. Good girl, extra treats for you. 😉

When I let Charlie out of his cage for some play time, Sasha just follows him at a distant.  It’s hilarious.  I just sit in awwww.  It’s only been four days since Charlie arrived but I’m hoping they will become close friends.  😉 😉

I will keep you posted.

Flashback Friday

It’s Friday so why not have a little fun.  If you know me, you know that I love love love taking pictures.  I take pics of everything even pictures of pictures. I now have 2,949 pictures on my iPhone.  I will travel back in time {as far as the pics will let me) and choose one picture every Friday and see if I can remember what was going on that day, if not, I will invent something fun. HA! Enjoy! Happy Flashback Friday!

I remember this trip.  It was out of this world! Greetings from the future. 😉 😉 In October 2009, the hubs and I took a trip to Walt Disney World to celebrate his 37th birthday. It was definitely a fun weekend. He wore his birthday badge with honor. 😉

Insecure men…blah

When your husband says jump, do you say how high?  There is nothing wrong with compromising every once in a while {once in a blue moon} but letting your husband dictate what you can or can not do with your hair, make-up, nails, and clothing is definitely out of the question.  Men like this are simply insecure and that’s it.

I was at the nail spa getting a mani when my nail tech starts telling me about how she use to dress up all the time but now she doesn’t because her fiancé gets mad and she doesn’t want him to think anything.  I was like “Excuse me?”  Think what, that you’re going to work?  If you’re looking like a cheap whore then I would understand his concern.  I was completely appalled.  Are you serious?  I wanted to reach over and smack her.  She continued to tell me that the other ladies there also have the same issue with their men.  They can’t wear certain clothes to work if they haven’t worn it with them first. Really?  What would be the purpose?  Talk about insecurities.  A man should know what he marries… Who knows!?

These are things that really upset me.  I hate it when I hear women say, “I wear my hair short because he likes it.  I can only where french nails because he likes it.  I have to dye my hair red because he likes it. I can’t wear heels because he doesn’t like it.”  These women need a fucking reality check.  What about what you like? If you like it, then you rock it but always have your own voice.  I’m not saying that you can’t ask him what he thinks of your outfit but really, will you go change because he tells you too? Think about it!?

It’s ridiculous!

I don’t care what my husband says when I walk out the house.  I love to dress up, I’m a girly girl.  He can bitch and moan and say what he pleases but he fell in love with me just the way I am.  Who says that once you’re married you have to compromise ALL of yourself.  Not me!!

I could continue to rant on but you get the idea.  What are your thoughts?

Topic to be continued…

People who don’t reply back…

I hate, absolutely hate it, when I send someone a text message and they don’t reply back.  How difficult is it to reply? It’s just pressing a few buttons, not rocket science.  I don’t expect a reply back within 60 seconds but at least have the courtesy to reply back before the day is over.

Yeah yeah…

Everyone has days they don’t want to talk or text with anyone and that’s fine but if you receive multiple calls or texts from one person, then take a minute and reply.  It could be something urgent.

Not replying back is one of my biggest pet peeves.

Yesterday, I sent my friend three messages, yes three but no reply.  This morning still no reply.  When he finally returned my call he was like, “Is everything O.K.?”  “No fucker, I needed you yesterday, I’m doing just peachy.” Seriously?  Perhaps I’m spoiled or just expect too much. I don’t find it difficult to reply back when I receive his messages. !@!%#@  Note to self: Your friend is an asshole but you love him. 😉

In the good old days when we didn’t have cell phones, we picked up the phone (land line) and called everyone.  We would even show up on their doorstep just to make sure they were O.K. if no one picked up the phone.  These days if you call and they don’t answer, you send a text – if that doesn’t work, you leave a message on Face book, and if that doesn’t work you tweet them.  You can’t hide anymore! #truth

Or if you’re like me you’ll blog about it because you know your friend will read it. LOL

The next time you receive three or more messages from someone just answer or call back, it really could be something important.

If you won the lotto…

What would you do, if you won the lotto? Have you ever even thought about it? Do you even play the lotto? Now, that’s the million dollar question. 😉

Many times over I’ve heard many people say they would do the following:

  • quit job (This seems to be the #1 choice.) Why? I like Maxine’s thought. HA!
  • pay-off old debt (This is def a good idea, start fresh.)
  • help the family (Only those who deserve it.)
  • buy a bigger house (The bigger the house, the more expenses.) Not a good choice…
  • travel the world (Once everything is in order, then YES, take several trips a year and enjoy it.)
  • shop, shop, shop (where would you put it all.)
  • save it (smart)
  • Invest it. (smart)

When I’ve been asked that question the first thing that pops in my head is pay off any open debts (if any), make sure I’m comfortable then help a handful of people. To be honest, I don’t know if I would quit my job. #thejuryis-stillout 😉

Would you tell anyone that you won the lotto? Good question~

Only the people I would choose to help would know and that’s it. It’s not important to tell the world but that’s just me. No one needs to know my business. Over and over I hear people say, “They must be doing something illegal, how can they afford that car, those shoes, that house on their salary.” UH Maybe they won the lotto and chose not to tell anyone. #justathought :wink wink: Stop judging and assuming. Perhaps I’m a millionaire but you’ll never know..LOL

At the end of the day, you will not know what to do with your lotto winnings until you have it in your hands. You can dream of a better future but don’t waste away your life waiting for a lotto win to pursue your dreams. Your time is now! 😉

It only takes one dollar to win. So try your luck! You might be the next big winner.

My Mother — continued…

It was not only a Mother’s day celebration but my mother’s 59th birthday. Sorry mom, I just spilled the beans. 😉  It was such a delight to see her face light up with joy.

It’s time to blow out the candles.  Make a wish or two.  May all your dreams come true.  Happy Birthday Mom.  I love her smile, there is nothing more beautiful.

It was a night of fun and laughter.  These moments are priceless…

There is nothing more important than family.  I am truly blessed.

Time to be silly?  Absolutely!!  “Mom, turn around, the camera is the other way.”  HA

And this concludes our amazing evening!

My Mother

What can I say about my Mother? She is caring, understanding, and loving. I’m blessed to have her by my side and I can’t imagine my life without her. My Mother, is simply beautiful inside and out.

M – O – T – H – E – R
M” is for the million things she gives me,
O” means only that she’s growing old,
T” is for her tender touch.
H” is for her heart of purest gold;
E” is for her eyes, with love-light shining,
R” means right, and right she’ll always be,
Put them all together, they spell
A word that means the world to me.

Thank you for enduring, for giving, and for loving.  You are my angel.

Most important — Thank you, for letting me be free to be ME.

I love you, Mom.
